Privacy Policy – Super Glossary
Last updated: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SpellDot (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with SuperGlossary (the “App”), available on the Shopify App Store.
What We Collect
When you install the App, we receive basic store and merchant account information through Shopify’s standard authentication process (such as your store domain and, where provided by Shopify, staff account details needed to operate the embedded admin app). We store a session token on our servers to keep you logged in while you use the App.
The glossary content, settings, and product references you create or configure through the App are stored in your Shopify store, not in our database. This includes glossary terms, glossaries, app settings, and any products you manually link to a term.
When you use related products, we read product catalog information from your store (such as product titles, handles, images, prices, availability, and compare-at prices) to display product suggestions in the admin and related products on glossary term pages. To improve performance, we may temporarily cache product display data in server memory for a few minutes; this cache is not written to persistent storage.
Images you upload through the App’s rich text editor are stored in your Shopify store via Shopify’s file storage.
What We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect, access, or store customer personal data — no customer names, email addresses, shipping or billing addresses, browsing behavior, orders, or payment information.
Reading your product catalog for related products does not involve customer or order data.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services within the App.
Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not share merchant or store data except as needed to operate the App (for example, through Shopify’s platform APIs) or as required by law.
Data Deletion
When you uninstall the App, your session is automatically deleted from our servers. Glossary content, settings, and product references remain in your Shopify store under your control until you remove them.
If your store is deleted, Shopify sends a mandatory data-deletion request; we remove any remaining session data associated with your store from our servers. Glossary data stored in Shopify is handled according to Shopify’s own data-deletion processes.
GDPR
The App does not store customer personal data. We support Shopify’s mandatory data protection webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact). Because we do not store customer personal data, customer data requests and redactions typically require no action on our side beyond confirming that no customer data is held.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
